Any sport or form of exercise comes with a risk of injury. However, there are a few things that make our program very safe. It's because of these few things that we barely see any injuries with our program.

Stretching: At the beginning of every class we go through a series of stretches. These stretches get your muscles and joints ready and warmed up for exercise.

Supervision: Every class is supervised by trained, licensed professionals. We watch carefully to make sure no student is doing anything in a dangerous or unsafe way.

In short, we place a tremendous amount of focus on fun and safety. It's because of this that we feel confident telling you that while there is risk for injury with our program - it's a very small risk.
People come to us of all fitness levels. We get natural-born athletes, and we get people who have a harder time with athletic endeavors. However, everyone gets the same focus and attention.

I take the adult Integrated Combat Arts class. I had no martial arts experience before joining. Everyone is welcoming and supportive. The instruction is great. It's challenging without being overwhelming, and I like being able to get different perspectives from the three different, wonderful instructors. It's good exercise, useful for self defense, and it's interesting to learn a mix of different disciplines. The classes tend to be small, so you get a lot of personal instruction. The other students are awesome people. I learn so much from them too. Everyone works hard, but we have fun. It's a safe, encouraging environment. You'll love the community and the instruction.

Just about the only activity my high-energy 9 year old looks forward to more than playing video games/screen time is karate night at North Shore Martial Arts!! More than just a martial arts class; emphasis on respect for self, respect for others, and growing socially responsible citizens. Great program.

Great martial arts program!Bill really does a great job. Not only do they teach how to defend yourself but also they also teach discipline. That was the most important thing for me. I grew up doing martial arts and it was almost like a boot camp. This is so much better for the kids. My son doesn't stop talking about how much he's learning and enjoys it. The teachers are all great and he also gets the younger students to help out in the classes witch the younger kids really look up to. It's been a pleasure to be there. I recommend it to anyone who needs some put a little structure in your kids daily attitude!
